Easy recipe to make Modak
To make modak, first prepare the stuffing ingredients. After that grate the coconut. Grind the jaggery finely and make it coarse. Place a pan on the gas and add coconut and jaggery and fry it on low flame. After 5 minutes, add nutmeg, saffron to it and fry it while stirring well. Keep the flame low otherwise the coconut may stick to the bottom of the pan. Now turn off the gas and let this mixture cool down. Put the rice in the mixer and grind it like flour. Add a little salt to it. Take it out in a bowl and add 1-2 teaspoons of ghee and mix well. Knead it by adding lukewarm water. Keep it covered for a while so that the dough becomes soft. Now make small balls of dough. Fill the coconut mixture inside the ball and close it from the top by folding it from all sides. You can also give it the desired shape. Heat the pan and add ghee to it. When the ghee is hot, fry 4-5 modaks at a time. When they turn golden brown, take them out in a plate. Delicious modaks are ready to be offered to Lord Ganesha.
